Get a quoteThis Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is published by Rubbish Clearance Barnes in accordance with relevant legislation and reflects our ongoing commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. We recognise that modern slavery, servitude, forced labour and human trafficking are severe human rights abuses and we are determined that they have no place in our operations or supply chains.
Rubbish Clearance Barnes provides professional waste removal and rubbish clearance services to residential, commercial and public sector customers. Our operations rely on our own workforce, subcontracted labour and a range of suppliers for vehicles, equipment, protective clothing and waste processing. We understand that risks of modern slavery can arise at various points in this chain and we are committed to identifying, preventing and addressing them.
Rubbish Clearance Barnes has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to every aspect of our activities, including recruitment, employment practices, subcontracting, sourcing of materials and engagement with service providers. We will not knowingly work with any organisation or individual involved in, or turning a blind eye to, modern slavery.
All employees, agency workers and contractors are required to comply with this policy as a condition of working with us. Any breach, or suspected breach, will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter and may result in termination of employment, contract cancellation and, where appropriate, reporting to the authorities.
We expect all suppliers and contractors to uphold the same high standards that we apply to ourselves. As part of our procurement and ongoing supplier management, we seek assurances that our partners operate in compliance with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws.
Our approach to supplier due diligence includes risk-based checks on new suppliers, with particular focus on labour-intensive services and high-risk sectors. We reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence of compliance, such as labour policies, right-to-work processes, wage records and health and safety measures. Where we identify concerns, we will work with suppliers to implement corrective actions within a reasonable timeframe. If issues are not adequately resolved, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Rubbish Clearance Barnes encourages all employees, agency workers, contractors and any other stakeholders to report concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices without fear of retaliation. Everyone has a responsibility to speak up if they see or suspect any behaviour that may indicate exploitation, coercion, forced labour or trafficking.
Concerns can be reported directly to line managers, to senior management, or through our internal whistleblowing channels, which allow reports to be made confidentially. We will investigate all reports promptly, sensitively and, where possible, in confidence. Any substantiated concerns will lead to appropriate corrective action and, when required, notification of relevant authorities.
We are committed to improving awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and key suppliers. This includes providing guidance to managers and team leaders so they can recognise potential warning signs of exploitation, such as unusual working patterns, indications of control by third parties or reluctance of individuals to speak for themselves.
We continually review our recruitment, onboarding and supplier engagement processes to reduce vulnerabilities. Right-to-work checks, proper documentation and fair working conditions form an essential part of our approach to preventing modern slavery within our workforce and subcontracted teams.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually by the senior management of Rubbish Clearance Barnes to ensure it remains effective, up to date and aligned with best practice. As part of the review, we evaluate any incidents or concerns raised, feedback from stakeholders, audit findings and changes in legislation or industry guidance.
Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures and training to strengthen our controls and address emerging risks. Our aim is to maintain transparent, ethical and responsible operations, demonstrating our commitment to preventing modern slavery in our business and throughout our supply chains.
